We all get lazy when we are texting in english to our friends , family , coworkers and abbreviate words. For example – ty instead of thank you , k instead of ok , ASAP instead of as soon as possible , ect. The same thing happens in spanish. However be aware that different abbreivations may carry distinct tones that natives can spot but a learner may not be aware of.
