Essential Spanish Abbreviations for Texting

We all get lazy when we are texting in english to our friends , family , coworkers and abbreviate words. For example – ty instead of thank you , k instead of ok , ASAP instead of as soon as possible , ect. The same thing happens in spanish. However be aware that different abbreivations may carry distinct tones that natives can spot but a learner may not be aware of.

npn – no pasa nada – don’t worry / it’s ok / no big deal

bb – bebé  – baby / babe

bn – bien – well

vdd – verdad – the truth

tqm – te quiero mucho – i love you

jajaja – laughing sounds – hahhahahaha

finde /fds – fin de semana – weekend

m gusta – me gusta – i like

pti – para tu informacion – for your information
