I have been to Afghanistan as an 18 year old girl and my goodness does that country hate women. I stayed in Kabul for almost a year because my parents are afghan and wanted me to see their extended family.I lived indoors for 9 months. I’m an introvert but staying indoors is only fun once I’m exhausted outdoors. Most people are unemployed , poorly paid and struggling with paying daily survival needs. The unemployed ones will constantly ask my parents to send them money. Smh. Religious extremism is woven into the fabric of afghan culture. I was dissociating most days in my stay in Afghanistan. It was easy for me to complain about this because after 9 months went by , my return flight to dubai was due followed by a return flight to melbourne. Education , employment , fundamental rights , freedoms are unpermitted afghan girls. This leaves afghan girls with only one choice ; be an obidient housewife and hopefully marry a man that can live anywhere else except for Afghanistan. Other places I wouldn’t want to visit are North Korea , Israel and Yemen
